Tressie Jordan
Tressie Jordan is a mix media artist, born in New Iberia, Louisiana. At the age of six, her mother taught her how to sew and she made her first dolls. After 20 years working for many leading companies in the high-end luxury textile industry, she found herself with a huge collection of gorgeous pieces which she now incorporates into her dolls, along with her collection of handcrafted and vintage textiles. Her dolls are also made with vintage jewelry and buttons that have been hand selected and collected through her travels. She incorporates custom beads that she makes out of clay that add to the playfulness of the dolls. Vintage jewelry and luxury textiles make her good juju dolls unique and one-of-a-kind. A quirky handwritten story is attached to each doll which gives them character and brings them to life. Most of her inspiration comes from her travels and interests in other cultures. Her favorite travel destination is Asia. She is very passionate about art, interior design and all types of unique textiles. Her work is displayed in 7 U.S. Galleries.
